Well back in the day like way back in late 1960's and 70's as a little teenage whore boy well maybe a little older than that but in full blossom I used them and my main guy who became the love of my life used them. Today at least in the USA the main ingredient acetyl nitrate is illegal so butyl nitrate is used and one does not get the same result. I do not use them anymore I think my ass would fall off at 75 years old! Oh I can still remember the feeling as my Joe and I danced to the music at several really nice gay bars back then. He is dancing now in heaven. Ryan's back in Syracuse New York was the scene for the college years as well as graduate school years. To bad it is gone but the memories live on. Ouch: ass pinched again....LOLI think I still have my ribbon for winning best wet ass contest...

Hi Will, I know what you mean back in the days of Disco circa 1976 it seemed to me that Poppers and Disco went hand in hand. If I did them today, I think I might just end up with a giant headache. Maybe due to the change in ingredients.
Thanks Will. I have wondered about poppers and always put off using them. For me I don't think that use would be wise since I have a heart arrhythmia which, I guess, is due to a congenital condition. So did acetyl nitrate become illegal because it was too much fun or dangerous health wise? Like many things in the gay subculture the reality may not be what it is all cracked up to be. Sorry for you about Joe. That's another thing that I wonder about, death and maybe possible reunion. At the end of Holding the Man Timothy Conigrave says, "Ci vedremo lassu, angel." Or, "We'll see each other up there, (my) angel." For myself I hope that that is true.
